my favourite baby girl, megan, just celebrated her 1st birthday. trying to become her favourite aunt, i put in an extra effort to make a cake topper of her favourite doll.

my friend (mr bear) is expecting his first baby, and it's a BOY! this is for baby shower :)

and it's not just about the baby, it's also about mama and papa, so i made them cookies too.
if you wonder why mama is a panda, that's because she's a BIG fan of panda...

little angel

this little angel in my life has been asking me to make her birthday cakes for the last few years, from princess to mermaid. this year, she has moved on to angels...

i tried making the wings with cookies, and they turned out to be too heavy for the angel to "carry", so i made them from rice krispies treats, coated with shredded coconut. seems to work better, and i love the leftover rice krispies treats. i also tried to use a new recipe for the whipped cream, tasted so good that i kept on eating the leftover...

The thought of making a birthday cake for myself never occured to me, but there's always a first time. So I decided to make a cake with my favourite cartoon character -- SNOOPY with his infamous red doghouse...

I particularly like his tummy, sticking out, just like mine, hahaha

for the golf-lovers (and cake-lovers...), it's a chocolate cake with cherries filling, i'm falling in love with it...

how should i describe? it was like a milestone in home baking, a moment to be remembered, a sense of accomplishment...
after spendng numerous hours making the roses in different shades of pink fondant, when the cake was stacked up with the cascade, it all came to life!
in case you are wondering what's inside, the top layer is a banana cake, and the bottom layer is a chocolate cake...yummy =)

first present

i made my first fondant-covered cake yesterday, technique is not too difficult, but the rolling and kneading takes a lot of effort. my arms were hurting crazy this morning when i got up...but it's all worth it. i'm loving it!

next week, i'm gonna make a 2-tier wedding cake...really looking forward to it...stay tuned!

i have been taking these cake deco classes in a local store and totally enjoying it. the instructor and the classmates are fun, and i have decided to go to course 3 to continue this new found hobby of mine. so here's my finished product for course 2, i couldn't quite imagine it would look like this when i was making those flowers in class --
